Known as the coldest desert of India, Ladakh is filled with stunning gompas (, fluttering prayer flags, whitewashed stupas, beautiful hamlets, and red-robed monks. Extending from the Siachen Glacier to the main Great Himalayas, Ladakh is a paradise for adventure seekers. It is only Ladakh where one can experience sunstroke and frostbite at the same time. The iconic Magnetic Hill, the turquoise coloured Pangong Lake, the confluence of two mystical rivers, ancient and awe-inspiring monasteries and the highest passes makes it an exceptional destination.
Travellers from countries other than India will still need to obtain a Protected Area Permit (PAP) or Restricted Area Permit (RAP) and have to pay a green fee or environment fee, and a Red Cross Fund fee.
