Itinerary
ARRIVAL KOLKATA
On arrival at Kolkata airport, you will be met by our representative who will escort you to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and rest of the day for relax. In the evening you may explore nearby places on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.
IN KOLKATA
After breakfast, proceed for heritage walk and orientation tour of Kolkata. Explore area around Victoria memorial, and Park Street. Drive past through Indian museum. Visit Jorasanko Thakur Bari which is ancestral home of famous noble prize laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Walk through the lanes of Kumar Tuli to glimpse potter's community which is around 300 years old. Haggle at college street and end your day with a coffee at coffee house.
KOLKATA - SUNDERBAN
Morning at 7 AM transfer to Godkhali jetty (125 Kms/3.5Hrs) through the beautiful countryside and rural bazaars. Arrive at Godkhali and board the motorized boat. After briefing and interpretation by our local guide cum naturalist over Tea/Coffee/Welcome drink, cruise through Gumdi river to the Sajnekhali watchtower and Nature Interpretation Centre. Experience the Island Cruise and arrive at hotel for check-in. Overnight at the Camp/ hotel.
Sundarbans is the most intriguing wilderness tour in India. This forest is the home turf of the Royal Bengal Tiger. Sundarbans also boasts of ample wildlife. This includes Crocodiles, Kingfishers, Spotted/Chital Deer, Dolphin, Wild Bear, Fishing Cat, Water Monitor, Marine Turtle, Red Hermit Crab, Egrets, Open Billed Stork, Heron, Tiger Prawn, Marine & estuarine Fish etc. The total forest cover is 4264 sq. km.
SUNDERBAN
Morning after breakfast cruise to Dobanki to experience the Canopy Walk in the Tower and then visit the Sudhanyakhali watchtower. Afternoon return back to resort. Evening free for individual activity and leisure. Overnight at the camp/ resort.
SUNDERBAN - KOLKATA - GUWAHATI
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kolkata airport (4.5 hrs /partially by water and surface) to board flight for Guwahati. Upon arrival you will provide pick up and drop to hotel for an overnight stay.
IN GUWAHATI
After breakfast, visit Kamakhya temple one of the most revered shrines of Goddess Shakti in India.
Later, drive to the ancient pilgrim centre of Haajo is an attraction for three religions - Hindu, Muslims and Buddhists. In the end we will visit Guwahati world war memorial dedicated to martyrs of world war.
GUWAHATI - KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken to Kaziranga (190 kms/4 hrs) through the scenic routes, you will reach Kaziranga. Complete check-in formalities at the hotel and unwind. Remaining part of the day is at leisure that you can enjoy as you like. You can take pleasure in a leisurely stroll around the hotel, treating your senses to the beauty all around you or gorge on local delicacies. You can also go shopping at the local market. Later, come back to the hotel for a refreshing night.
IN KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Arise to a beautiful morning and be prepared for an Elephant Safari tour. The usual sightings at the park are of One-horned Rhinos, Asiatic Elephants, Deers, Asiatic Buffaloes, Sambars, Boars and a wide variety of birds, including migratory birds. Return to hotel for a scrumptious breakfast. Enjoy local sightseeing like Orchid Gardens and Tea Estates or go for a Jeep safari. Overnight at the hotel.
KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK - MAJULI ISLAND
We start in the morning from Kaziranga and head to Neemati ghat to catch our ferry to the Majuli. It’s a wonderful 1.5-hour navigating the mighty Brahmaputra. We soak in the calm views around, smell the fresh air of the river and watch other ferries go by. Once on the islands, we head to our Bamboo cottages and relax. The evening is free to walk the village roads, explore the markets, cycle around or just enjoy the calm breeze sitting by the river. Overnight at the hotel.
IN MAJULI
We start our day by visiting the Satras, the birthplace of Vaishnavite culture in Assam. We explore the unique mask-making art of Majuli by experiencing it first-hand. Interaction with the artists is a good way to learn how these unique masks take shape, from bamboo structures to the final product. Later we will visit Mising (the local tribe of this part of the region) village(s). While on the walking tour, we interact with the locals and learn more about their daily lives and culture. We also learn and see first-hand, how wonderful weavers they are. Overnight at the hotel.
MAJULI - JORHAT
After breakfast, drive to Jorhat. En route visit muga silk factory to know about entire process of weaving of muga silk. After visit, drive through meandering roads surrounded by lush green tea estates of Jorhat. On arrival check in at the hotel for overnight stay.
JORHAT – HOOLLONGPAR GIBBON SANCTUARY – JORHAT
After breakfast, drive to Hoollongpar gibbon sanctuary contains India’s only ape family. Later return
to Jorhat for an overnight stay.
JORHAT – KOLKATA DEPARTURE
After breakfast, you will be provided departure transfer to Jorhat airport to connect flight for Kolkata and onwards journey.
